RezyklieRt - Studio Riane Lüthi

Riane Lüthi creates small worlds in showcases from waste, from plastic figurines, antique picture fragments and found objects from nature. They are three-dimensional paintings behind glass that transport the viewer into fairy-tale landscapes, whimsical microcosms, fantasy realms. The pictures are enchantingly beautiful, magical. But never lacks a dash of irony, a quirky, absurd detail, a humorous interjection, a joke figure that breaks the aesthetic. She shapes little meat patties out of dried gummy bears, stages Christmas worlds out of empty heroin bottles from the drug drop, and arranges plucked plastic chickens with popcorn sitting in front of a mini TV.

"I have an immense mental cinema, "Lüthi says. She plays with human memories, which is her secret recipe. "Everyone who enters my workshop encounters themselves."
